Some times iPod shuffle doesn’t respond and in some cases it won’t turn on. If its frozen or not responding you can start troubleshooting with an iPod reset and this will not affect your music files, Most of the time resetting an iPod will fix the issue on all iPod shuffle version. Check the below picture for different iPod shuffle versions. (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generations)
- Make sure iPod shuffle is not connected to the computer
- Drag the slider switch to the OFF position on the iPod shuffle. (note: Once you drag the slider green stripe of switch is not visible)
- Wait for10 seconds.
- Now drag the slider switch ON. The green stripe will be visible.
If this doesn’t work you have to download iPod Reset Utility.Visit this page ( http://support.apple.com/downloads#ipod) and select the utility as per your operating system. For example iPod shuffle Reset Utility 1.0.1 for Mac, this reset Utility restores First Generation iPod shuffle. You also have iPod Reset Utility 1.0.4 for Windows. After downloading Install the Reset Utility software and connect your iPod into the USB port and run the reset program.
