Let’s say you’ve lost your original CD or your unable to setup router using CD, Still you can configure your Belkin wireless G router manually using the web interface.

Step 1 : Log on to Belkin G Setup Page
What do you do if your Belkin N600, N300 and N150 did not come with set up CD at all? It’s very easy to access Belkin settings page, make sure ethernet cables are connected properly. you can follow the above link if you’re not sure how to connect cable between router, modem and computer.
Now, type Belkin router default ip address http://192.168.2.1 by going to start and RUN window or type it in the address bar of your web browser (internet explorer/safari) and you will be able to see router settings page.
Step 2 : Belkin Default Password for log in
For new router’s by default there is no password activated, so you just have to click on “submit” button. Now the main page appears.
Note: If you get a message saying “incorrect password” or if you’ve forgotten the password. You have to reset the router (Belkin router reset).
Step 3 : Choose your connection type
Click on “Connection type” (you will find it on the left side of page under the Internet WAN column)
Cable Broadband users : Comcast Internet, Cox Cable Internet, Charter Cable Internet, Time Warner Cable Direct and Road Runner High Speed Online etc.
- Select “Dynamic” and then click on “Next”.
- Leave “Host Name” place blank and click next
- Now Click on “Change WAN MAC Address”.
- Just below it you will find “Clone” Click on it .
- Click on “Apply Changes”
DSL connection users : AT&T DSL Direct, Bell-south, AOL, Verizon Direct etc
- Select “PPPOE” and click on “Next”.
- Enter the user name and password given by your Internet Service Provider.
- Save the settings. Click on the “Home” link at the top of the screen
Static connection users : Qwest.net, Sky-way, Star-band Satellite, DIRECTV Satellite etc
- Select “Static” and click on “Next”.
- You need to enter the “IP Address“, “Sub-net Mask” and “ISP Gateway Address” Click on “Apply Changes”.
- It will prompt for “Primary DNS” and “Secondary DNS” information. Enter the required info and click on “Apply Changes”.
(note: if you don’t have these details, you need to contact your internet service provider)
How to name your wireless G network and change the wireless channel number
- Click on “Channel and SSID” under” WIRELESS” column.
- Type your network name in SSID column (you can give any name)
- For better connectivity you can select channel number as 6,10 or 11
Check the “STATUS” to the top right corner in the same page, It shows connection. Now you can connect your laptop and other wireless equipped devices and enjoy wireless internet.
Adding Windows 7 computer to Wireless Network
- Make sure wireless switch is turned on
- Bottom right corner you will find network list, Click on it and you will find all the available wireless networks.
If you don’t find Belkin network refresh your network list, find the screenshot of refresh button below.
- Select your network and hit connect, enter your security key when prompted.

Your unable to browse in computer aswell as in iphone, You can reset your belkin router and check. Also connect modem directly to your computer and check for internet connection.

You are right. Connect a cable to the back of your computer to Ethernet port and connect other end to the belkin router (there are 4 LAN ports)connect to any one of this port.
Now, connect BRIGHTHOUSE modem cable directly to Internet/WAN port of your Belkin router and follow the above steps.

Your computer needs to be hardwired only during the router setup. Once you configure router, you can remove the cable and access wireless internet.

In-order to do that you have to convert your Belkin Router to an Access point (follow this link). You can also make use of Samsung WIS09ABGN LinkStick Wireless LAN Adapter so that you can connect to Linksys router directly.

Make sure you have cable connected firmly (router to the computer). Type http://192.168.2.1 in Internet explorer or by going to Start and RUN window. If your still getting the same error- you need to reset your router.
hey ppl….i recently bought a belkin g wireless router model:F5D7234-4-H V5…i was succesfull in connectin all the cables as instructed in the manual…the wired n power LEDs were also lit…but i done hve ny idea how to setup internet wireless or make the wireless LED glow..n also on unboxin it i dint find any installation cd….so any help will b very helpful…
You can setup Belkin wireless router without a installation disk. Please follow the above article. Let me know if you finding it difficult.

I followed this process because I am unable to find the CD to be able to re-install my wireless connection. When I log on to the Belkin page via the IP address provided I am currently showing a connected status via landline internet connection; however, when I change my connection as the instructions provided (Cable Broadband user and cloning my Mac address) I lose my connected status. The wireless connection is no longer able to connect to my wireless SSIN on the basis of the wireless security settings not matching.
When I hook up my computer directly from my cable modem, I can use ethernet. But when I hook up through my Belkin router, it says that ethernet is not connected. How do I fix that?

i am having a Belkin g wireless router model F5D7234-4-H V5. thanks for all your help with the above article i set up my router correctly.its working fine On PC i am able to connect to internet with the use of this router but whenever i try to connect internet to my PSP using wifi it gives me following error “communication with the server failed. a dns error has occurred (80410410)” . But u know my psp is able to scan a access point which i created using password but when i connect to internet using psp something went wrong…..please help..

Hi Suyog,
Login to the router with default ip 192.168.2.1 and change the wireless channel number to 1,9 or 11, I guess signal strength is not enough to connect to PSP.
If your network is password protected then change security from WEP to WPA or WPA to WEP (Wireled Equivalency Privacy). Disable the Belkin router firewall and WPS (Wifi Protected Setup) option of router and see if you can connect. You can also enter the MAC address of PSP manually configure the connection.

Who is your Internet service provider? If its a cable connection you can connect directly and use it, Please follow the steps mentioned above, you don’t need a CD for setup.

I recently bought a Belkin N300 Router, and lost the CD. I’ve tried configuring it with the help of this article 4 times now.
The steps seem simple and easy, but when i click connect at the end, a message saying: “The server closed the connection without sending any data.” appears.
Now, i don’t know what the problem is. My net is completely stable, all wires are intact, the modem is brand new.
Also, i noticed that even after saving changes and all that, the WAN IP, DNS, Sub-net and all that under Internets settings on the Belkin site all show 0.0.0.0 even after saving changes.
Please help. I am in distress.

Don’t worry about it, Try Belkin Router Reset and then call up your Internet service provider and ask them for basic setup details. I am not sure what kind of connection your using.
Okay, so i called my isp call center and followed your instructions thoroughly. Finally, i was able to setup wifi for my primary laptop (for which i couldnt thank you enough!)
However, when i try to connect using other laptops/i phone, device gets connected to router, but not the internet. I have confirmed that my connection is PPPoe type. The thing is, even post configuration i need to connect to internet from my primary laptop through the isp client by filling in id password etc.
So, now the problem is due to my router settings or is the isp responsible?
